DLG's expertise is based on experience maintained by continuous involvement in relevant research, with investigations into topics which affect the everyday practice, most recently this has included a three year DTI funded project into sustainability.

The partners regularly present at conferences and publish papers on key subjects for the construction industry. The Practice has also been a leading contributor to government-sponsored research into subjects ranging from sustainability to IT and together with Kingston University, is a founder member of the Leisure Property Forum, which has the objective of working towards a better understanding of buildings and property designed for leisure use.
