DLG ARCHITECTS MAKES POSITIVE MOVES

DLG Architects, which has offices in Leeds and London, is celebrating 38 years in practice this month with a northern office relocation and a change of operation to become an LLP.

The award winning firm, which is probably most recognised for its mixed-use developments including the Atrium in Camberley and the redevelopment of The Light in Leeds, has changed its operating status in line with other leading professional business to allow for more flexible and modern working methods. At the same time it has transferred its Leeds office team to new state of the art premises in Brewery Wharf, a location that reflects DLG’s status as a forward thinking, people focused business.

Julian Monaghan, Senior partner at DLG Architects comments: “We are pleased to announce this positive status change and relocation, which will facilitate future growth and succession planning within the business. Obviously, like most businesses in property, we have been experiencing challenging times, but we have embraced this in a positive way. The industry is evolving and we are pleased to see less maverick and more strategically planned schemes on the table. We have always supported a partnership approach and our own evolution will see us well placed to maximise business opportunities in the future.

“We continue to secure business across our core sectors strengths that include retail, offices, leisure, public sector, urban design and food manufacturing but we are also seeing great opportunities across more niche sectors including charitable/community work and transport.”

The practice continues to be led nationally by four Partners with support from a team of 8 directors / Associate directors.
