NEW BRAND RAISES NEW CHALLENGES FOR DLG

National practice DLG Architects is approaching the end of 2005 with a new set of challenges for the future.  A detailed review of the business that has transpired from a change of era at DLG has resulted in a radical re brand that boldly puts people at the heart of its business.

DLG, which operates offices in London and Leeds and serves a national client base across a wide range of industry sectors, has revealed a strong new identity that aims to communicate its promise to deliver innovative yet workable solutions that actually relate to people and their environment.

Anthony Walker, Senior Partner at DLG Architects, comments, “At DLG our business is not just about delivering visually stunning, award winning buildings.  People are central to everything that we do – as our clients, as users of our buildings, as our colleagues and as both the local and global community - they all matter to us and have an impact on the buildings we design.

“We are committed to creating buildings with a holistic approach to their long term economic, social and environmental sustainability. To achieve that we have to observe, listen, understand and then act with our experience to achieve brilliant buildings for everyday use.”

The new corporate identity for DLG features a contemporary and bright logo that is surrounded by everyday people.  The concept, designed by London based corporate brand specialist SalterBaxter, allows flexibility for DLG to adapt the use of these people as characters that actually interact with the presentation tool being used.

DLG was established in 1972 by founding partners Damond Lock, Stan Grabowski and Anthony Walker. The successful company now employs 76 people led by a team of six partners and seven associates in London and Leeds. This year’s celebrations of 33 years in practice, as well as changes to the management team, signified an important milestone for DLG and a timely opportunity to reposition itself with a brand that more directly communicates its values.

DLG is responsible for many landmark schemes across the UK that includes The Light in Leeds, Windsor Royal Station and BroadwayPlaza in Birmingham.
